- When I first singed up with Mediscan Staffing Services I was very excited. This all came to a quick end as I was asked for only a few of my documents needed for placement only 2 at a time, it was 2 months before I received my first assignment. My recruiter was rude from the beginning, I think she never took me seriously. I was offered a 2 day assignment 12 hour shifts. I didn't receive another call for 3 months for any assignments. Even though I continued to call in and ask for any last minute openings. The second assignment was a Hospital not too far from me. The pay was nice $25 an hour. This hospital was runned on more than 50% travelers. My Department only had 5 travels. Everything that could go wrong did. As a traveler I was blamed for everything, but I didn't complain. I did my job so good many Doctors started requesting me. I never had anyone takeover for me on time and the Hospital didn't pay my overtime. I asked about this and now answer. What started as a 3 month contract turned into 1 year.I was asked repeatedly about becoming perment staff and I simply stated that I loved being a traveler. Yet the truth is I was so tired of defending my self when it came down to what was better for the patient. When my contract ended I didn't receive any notice, and was later told the hospital found me had to work with,me rude, bossy. My recruiter didn't talk to me regarding any of this. Yet if this was true why was I extended to a year and repeatedly asked about becoming staff. Well I haven't heard from that recruiter or anyone else so I started applying for other positions. But so funny how a hard to work with, bossy, rude person was hired by KAISER. Now they want to call me. If you don't jump fast enough they don't work with you or for you. And if you have a parent teachers conference and tell them in advance you are not available, you won't have a job for 3-5 months. Untill they feel like it. 11/13/2014
